About Me

I’m a senior journalism major at Texas State University with a minor in media studies and a May 2025 graduation date. I am currently the news editor of The University Star, where I am responsible for a group of 15 reporters and all breaking news for the paper. I'm currently an intern at KXAN and The Austin Chronicle. Previously, I was a writer for HER Campus and an intern at Austin Woman Magazine, Texas Monthly, The Borgen Project and Austin's NPR station, where I accumulated over 30 clips. I worked as a news reporter for The University Star since my sophomore year, where I reported on issues in San Marcos, Texas, ranging from San Marcos and Hays County politics to campus housing and parking issues.  I grew up in Beirut, Lebanon, where I also worked at The961, a non-profit news outlet, as an Intern Managing Editor. I decided to pursue journalism because of the impact my piece on the 2020 Beirut bomb had. My career goal is to be a powerhouse in local journalism and contribute to democracy by educating locals about their government.
