About Me

I am a journalism graduate from Texas State University with a minor in media studies and currently work as a Breaking & Trending News Reporter at the Austin American-Statesman. I previously served as News Editor of The University Star, managing a team of 15 reporters and leading breaking news coverage while reporting extensively on local government, housing and campus issues in San Marcos and Hays County.

My background includes internships with KXAN, The Austin Chronicle, Texas Monthly, Austin Woman Magazine, HER Campus, The Borgen Project and Austin’s NPR station, as well as work as an Intern Managing Editor for Beirut-based nonprofit The961, where I grew up. I was drawn to journalism after covering the 2020 Beirut explosion, and my goal is to build a career in impactful local journalism that strengthens civic engagement and accountability.
